George's fundraising
How it all began...
George began his fundraising in may 2022, by pledging to run a virtual marathon (26 miles) throughout the month!
George's initial aim was to raise £350 to fund The Umbrella Project for his own School, Earlsdon Primary.Within the first week of his challenge George has raised enough funds to purchase The Umbrella Project for his SCHOOL. By week 2, he has raised enough to fund this project to two schools. By week three he had reached enough to fund this project to three schools...
BECAUSE OF THE IMMENSE SUPPORT AND KINDNESS OF OTHERS GEORGE CONTINUED TO RUN AND FUNDRAISE FOR THE REST OF 2022! BY THE END OF THE YEAR HE HAD RAISED ENOUGH TO FUND 11 LOCAL SCHOOLS & RAN A TOTAL DISTANCE OF 200 MILES!
What is the Umbrella Project?
The Umbrella project by the ADHD FOUNDATION aims to change the perception of neurodiverse/neurodivergent people and celebrate all the many strengths that come from thinking differently.George is now on a mission to support as many local schools as possible by proving them with the Umbrella Project.
George wants children like him to feel less 'alone' and believes this is a wonderful way to promote a positive message for those
with a neurodevelopmental difference.
Which Schools has George supported?
With George's Fundraising so far he has been able to purchase the project for Earlsdon Primary School for Summer 2022.
We are thrilled to have installed George's umbrellas in our sensory garden, they look amazing and bring colour and happiness to our school playground. The children loved seeing them up and sitting underneath them when the sun is shining! We are very proud and very lucky to have such an uplifting installation to raise awareness and understanding of neurodiversity - MRS ANDREWS
He has also currently fundraised enough to gift this project to the following Schools for Summer 2023:
